Hello Everyone,
Friday afternoon, Carol and I will be “Back On The Road Again.” This time our adventure will take us to Morocco.
We’ll start in Fes, probably the most inviting city there, for 4 days. Then, on to Rabat, the capital city, for a couple more days and then ending in Tangier. We haven’t spent much time on the African continent in our travels. Things are very different over there, as you likely know. We’re hoping for an interesting Cultural experience, along with a lot of ethnic food and personal interactions. Among other things, Carol arranged an ethnic Moroccan dinner for us, served at the home of an Eatwith.com member. We have had many dinners like this, all over the world, and each has offered its own unique rewards.
But….. before we head over to Morocco, we will spend a week in Spain, at the VaughanTown English Language School. We volunteered there, 8 years ago, to be an English speaking “Anglo” and always thought we would go back again sometime. VaughanTown is a one week, intensive, spoken English, language school, for Spaniards who know English but are afraid to speak it, or want to improve their skills communicating with native English speakers. All of us will be bussed away to a Thermal Spa Resort, a 3 hour ride North East of Madrid, at Alhama de Aragón. The Spaniards are the paying customers and the Anglos are covered for all expenses after we show up in Madrid. We all live there for the week and follow along with a structured combination of matched Spaniard-Anglo, one-on-one meetings, meals and activities, intended to improve the English skills of the Spaniards. The last time we volunteered there, it was a wonderful experience. We’re hoping for a repeat performance.
